Renewable Energy Tariffs in Bulgaria
- Bulgaria may be moving toward repairing a Photovoltaic feed-in tariff--According to the Bulgarian Photovoltaic Association (BPVA), on Oct. 27 the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism (MEE) issued a draft proposal for a revised feed-in tariff. In an email response, the MEE confirmed that the proposal calls for incentives with guaranteed payments of 25 years pegged at 72.8 BGN (50.7˘) for systems above 5 kW and 79.2 BGN (55.2˘) for installations below 5 kW for all PV connected to the grid by March 31, at which point a new level would be set. . .
- Bulgaria Raises Biomass Feed-in Tariffs--The State Water and Energy Regulatory Commission (SEWRC) in Bulgaria set a higher purchase price of electricity produced by biomass power plants running on wood and logging waste in Bulgaria with installed capacity greater than 5 MW - EUR 113.76 per MWh. . .
- Bulgaria plans caps on new green energy assets--The installed solar capacity will surge to 330 MW by 2020 while wind power capacity will increase four times to 1,250 MW, according to Bulgaria’s national plan on renewable energy. . .
