German Renewable Employment Reaches 214,000 in 2006

Direct and indirect employment in the German renewable energy industry reached 214,000 in 2006 according to a recent study by Germany's Ministry for the Environment (BMU). The study also found that the industry's total turnover neared €22 billion.

German renewables supplied 5.3% of primary energy in Germany and 11.8% of electricity in 2006.
