Giant Germany Utility Swears Off New Coal

June 15, 2010

RWE, one of Germany's biggest utilities, has announced it will not build any more new coal plants.

RWE currently gets 2/3 of its generation from coal.

This should put the lie to claims that the Germans are moving toward coal--and not wind and other forms of renewable energy.
