Tamminen believes that California's Renewable Portfolio Standard is working and that feed-in tariffs are not necessary, but feed-in tariffs can be helpful in developing renewable energy faster. The CEC's IEPR concludes that the state's RPS program is not working well and that feed-in tariffs are necessary to meet California's renewable energy targets. Tamminen was secretary of California's Environmental Protection Agency from 2003 to 2005 and from 2005-2007 Governor Schwarzenegger's Chief Policy Adviser. -End- |
