Husum Wind Conference Launches Interactive Wind Map

As part of the giant Husum wind conference held every two years, organizers this past fall launched an interactive map of wind projects in the region surrounding the "grey city by the sea".

Facing the North Sea on the windy west coast of Schleswig-Holstein, Husum has been the pioneering capital of German wind development. The two counties that surround Husum, North Friesland and Ditthmarschen, alone contain 1,170 MW of wind generating capacity from nearly 1,400 turbines.

The map for example identifies 12.5 MW from 22 turbines in the polder of Friedrich-Wilhelm-Lübke-Koog north of Husum near the Danish border.
